BROADWAY

Today on my blog I'm going to be talking about a few Broadway shows you CANNOT miss!

"Meet Me in St. Louis" was an extraordinary play on Broadway, based on the events taken place in 1904. The story told is a family-friendly play that also included a famous Christmas song, recognized by nearly everyone now. Have yourself a merry little Christmas...
The play involves creative dancing and awesome costumes that truly emphasize the upbeat, happy feeling it embodies. The lighting on stage is green at some points and at other times just simply warm colors to portray the mood to those in the audience. The songs bring out a happy exciting mood to the stage. Many songs were written by Ralph Blaine and Hugh Martin.
I would definitely recommend seeing this opera to anyone, young or old.

In the 1982 Broadway show "Fifty Percent Fifty Percent" the lead sings about her love. She sings with great emotion about a man she loves who dies and then falling for another man who is taken by another woman. The setting of the stage amplifies the importance of the song she is singing instead of distracting the audience with props or bright lights. She is living on only fifty percent of love from a man who is with someone else. The song clearly shows emotion and longing.
I would recommend this musical to any older person who is interested in a love story. The play was driven by emotions and will tug on the hearts of the audience.

I will finish with my favorite of all three Broadway shows, "Hair." This musical is about a rebellion in society. Long hair and hippies everywhere! The show gives a comical portrayal of people on drugs in tie-dye outfits and denim. It is a set filled with colors and life. The play emphasizes a dawning of the age, where they stand up for morals like harmony and understanding. Religion is prevalent and the community is portrayed as a group that sticks together.
This play would be a great watch for anyone but would definitely interest young adults a lot more. Young adults are the future and this play will open the eyes of many people.
